2019 Nissan Titian VS 2019 Ford F-150

A History of Rivalry

Let’s talk about the 2019 Nissan Titan and its heated rival – the Ford F-150. While at first blush these two vehicles may seem like they have a lot in common, the reality is that they could not be more different.

Let’s Talk Features

More-Than-Capable Engine

The Titan commands the streets with a standard 5.6-liter V-8 engine with 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, while the F-150 comes with a suite of available F-150 engines including a 3.3-liter V-6. Out of the box, the Titan is commanding quite a bit more potency, but how else do these two metal stallions stack up?

Trust, Safety, and More

In terms of warranty, the Titan takes an early lead with a striking 5 year, 160,000 km warranty that stacks up somewhat poorly against the F-150’s modest three year, 60,000 km version. It also comes with several key features that the F-150 simply doesn’t offer even as an optional feature. Take the Titan’s available Intelligent Around View Monitor, which provides a 360° view of your surroundings from above, or the near-indestructible lockable, removable Titan box. While the F-150 comes with a wide range of available features – the Titan knows its strengths and pushes the envelope in a lot of unique ways.

The Titan Rises Above

The Titan is a striking behemoth of a truck right out of the box and it begins at a price that is comparable to the standard F-150. If we’re being completely honest – it actually comes out ahead in most categories, or near to it, that is until you really start pouring money into the F-150 with available features and luxury trims which brings us to the largest difference between the two vehicles.

The F-150 is a truck that you will have to largely customize for yourself piece by piece if you want it to be truly exceptional. If you shell out the extra money, the Ford F-150 has the advantage in this fight in that it is more a la carte than the Titan, the more money you pay the more you are going to get out of it. The Ford F-150 keep pace with the Titan when you pay up for a top of the line version, but it doesn’t stack up at the base.

If you are the kind of driver that wants a truck that is going to work every time you turn the key, be consistently amazing right out of the box, and get the job done without having to break the bank on options and features, then the Titan stands as your best value for money.
